Teen Yoga Tribe is run by a team of teens (The Teen Team) who attend Shahn's yoga classes. Their goal is to grow awareness of the benefits of yoga for teens. Who best to do this, than teensthemselves! The Teen Team is gaining invaluable work experience learning how to grow a brand whilst being a part of something that transforms the lives of teens. Shahn's passion is to help children and teens connect with their true spirit, be authentic and live a fulfilled life.

My aim as a Yoga teacher is to facilitate each student's personal Yoga journey. Anything I teach is adapted to suit and benefit the individual and I particularly enjoy the challenge (and rewards!) ofworking with students of different ages and abilities, including those with health conditions, limited mobility or injuries. The natural environment for this subtle, student centred approach is a small group or one-to-one setting, which is what my teaching has gradually evolved towards.

I havepracticed yoga on and off throughout my life but my love and need for yoga came when I had breast cancer. Yoga really helped my mind, body and soul to cope with everything the treatments and surgery could throw at me.

We found the shala in 2005. Guruji was in town and after we picked him up from the airport on a snowy March morning, he did a small puja, blessing our new space. Six weeks later, having had Dave thebuilder pull it to pieces and then re-build, while Anna gave birth to our lovely daughter, Talia, we opened with samosas and tea. We'd had other spaces but none that were ours 24/7. All the students were so happy with the new space, though it soon gained a ‘lived in' look.
