Open Yoga classes are, as the name suggests, community classes open to all. There is no ‘type' of person for whom yoga is suitable, it is a practice for anyone, with any body type from any walk of life.

Vinyasa means that breath is combined with movement in a dynamic meditation. Therefore, in vinyasa classes, whilst there is a strong focus on the bio-mechanics of alignment, there is also a flow to the practice.

The Ashtanga classes are based on the primary series, which is a set sequence of poses and counter-poses that enhance flexibility. The primary series is also referred to as yoga chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy and the potent combination of breath and movement discipline the mind as well as toning, stretching and strengthening the body. Ashtanga classes come in two forms.
